A Day in Knox County, heading to The Rural Society Antique & Garden Show!

My boyfriend and I's schedules are conflicting so it's rare that we actually get an entire day off together. When I got the invitation from the Urban Farmhouse to attend the Rural Society Antique and Garden Show, I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to spend some quality time together, enjoying this beautiful fall weather. Thanks to my lovely boss Kelly for giving me the day off :) We had such a great time! Below are some photographs I captured throughout the day.

This was our first stop.. we were driving down a country road on our way there and I spotted this farm and Zach was nice enough to pull over for me, although he did encourage me to hurry up and take the picture because the place didn't look like it was owned by the type of people that would want random visitors..lol.

We spotted this along the way also. I never could find a sign saying what it had been, but I'm assuming maybe it was an old school house.

Another cool barn along the way. I got a little frighten when a random dog came out of the field behind me. Here I am running back to the Jeep as quick as I can and Zach's not paying any attention playing on his phone. He promised he would watch my back this time so I could go take a better picture :)

This is a view from the road leading back to the Rural Society Antique and Garden Show. It was a little windy but a beautiful day.

We're here!

I love old trucks. This was at the entrance of the show.

There were cats and dogs everywhere. Being the animal lover that I am I loved it!
This was part of Urban Farmhouse's tent and barn.

Beautiful Colors and Display.

A large variety of fun pumpkins and gourds.

The Rooster and Hen House... there were also a couple of white peacocks mixed in, but I couldn't get a good photo of them.

Lots of goodies!

And More!

It was a very beautiful farm.

This was an old abandoned house across the street from the farm. I thought it had a beautiful setting.

My finds for the day. A large vintage frame, vintage juggling pin and watering can.
All and all it was a wonderful day!

An Evening at Little Pennsylvania Cemetery aka Woolyburger

Photographed below is the entrance to Little Pennsylvania Cemetery aka Woolyburgers.
My friends and I used to go here all the time in the middle of the night when I was in high school, hoping for a good thrill. There are many stories that circulate our town about it being haunted and occult human and animal sacrifices going on there often. Supposedly there is a shack/house in the woods that they have their sacrifices in. My boyfriend grew up fishing at the pond located off one of the trails in the cemetery and he says he has never come across any shed or house. Some people claim that the house only shows up after midnight.

There are also many stories about how it got it's name Woolybugers. One is that a large Bigfoot like creature called a woolyburger has been spotted and lives there... I've never seen it. Actually I've never seen anything scary there. The scariest experience I've ever had there happened tonight... and that was just bats dive bombing us to eat bugs!

I've always been curious about this place so today I thought I would go in the evening and check it out in the day light. Not so scary then... but I did scream twice. Once when I saw a dead animal at the beginning and again when a walnut fell from the tree..lol.

The oldest tombstone we found was dated back to 1821.
The most recent one was dated 1996.

This was the tombstone I most wanted to see. I left thinking I didn't find it. Turns out I took a picture of it and didn't realize it was it until I got home.
Story has it that The Willy Boucher house stood for years across the road from the cemetery. Supposedly Willy Boucher went crazy and butchered his wife and children and then took his own life after. His spirit was known to haunt his old house.
The house was burnt down years ago, but I'm not sure when.
This is the final resting place for his family. This is his son's stone. The child was not even one when he died or was murdered.

Why not take a cute couple photo in the middle of a "haunted" graveyard?

Say cheese Mom!

Mom and my boyfriend taking a break

I love this time of year.. it's one of the best months! I Can't wait to blog about my experience this weekend... when we check out the haunted Mansfield Prison!

Move over!

I found this photo and idea on Pinterest this morning. I'm not sure who the original post was from but I love this idea! I'm definitely going to need to turn a few of my vintage suitcases into pet beds! The below photos will explain why!

This is my bed any given night! I'm going to have to find a VERY LARGE suitcase for my 120 lb. German Sheperd!

No room for me! But I don't mind :)

Fall is Here!

I'm so excited that it's pumpkin season!
I just picked these up from a farm down the street from me. They always have such a great selection.

This years creation out of some of the pumpkin I picked up. It was so easy. I picked up the straw hat from the thrift store on my way home from work. Called my mom and asked her to bring over her big spare button jar. Picked the pumpkins up from the farm. Cut down a few limbs out of the tree in the yard. Staked the pumpkins together and it all came together in about 15 minutes. I think he needs some pumpkin kids.

This years weather is perfect for the mums. They are so bright and beautiful this year!

This is some of my porch decor. I picked up the chair that has the pot in it at a flea market, I think for $5. The little red kids chair I pick up at a yard sale this summer for $1. My latest find was last night at the thrift store I found that beautiful white cast iron pot holder for $4. I think I'm going to incorporate it in my room as a jewelry holder but for now I put a warty looking pumpkin on it!

This is my scarecrow - Farmer Fred. I made him a few years ago. Again such a simple DIY project. I purchased all of his clothes and accessories from the thrift store for under $12 total. I found the pumpkin head at Big Lots for I believe $8. We had some spare wood around, so I cut it up and screwed two pieces together to make a cross shape. Cut a hole in the middle of the overhauls and put the clothes on the cross and stuffed it with plastic Kroger bags and straw. I used the Kroger bags for some filling because if you used all straw it would get really heavy and fall over when it rained. I used twine to tie around the arms and legs to keep the straw in place. Pinned his hat on his head and staked him in the ground. Just as simple as that.

Can't wait to share more Treasures and DIY projects with you! Until then enjoy every minute of this beautiful fall weather. If you don't take a minute to stop and look around you might just miss the leaves changing! Enjoy!

Meet My Puppies

When I'm not working or on a treasure hunt, you can find me playing with my puppies. They are a HUGE part of my life. I grew up on a farm with every farm animal you can think of (besides a cow), and I believe that is why I have such a big heart when it comes to animals. I love taking them just about everywhere I can.

The first photo is of my Chloe.
My boyfriend and I adopted her about 8 months ago from a shelter. She just recently turned one. She is spoiled and a handful but very sweet. She also very obedient and we are currently working on getting her to say "I love you". She's almost there.

This little nugget is my Tucker. We just found him on the streets about 3 months ago. We had just adopted Chloe and we already had Max (our other dog) so we we'rent looking into taking a third dog in. I took him to the vet to see if he was chipped, but no luck. I searched and searched the internet to see if he was missing, no luck. After a few days of searching, I knew Tucker was going to be part of our family. I mean look at that face. In all honestly I think when I first found him I kinds hoped I'd get to keep him :)

This is my Max. My first and oldest dog I got on my own. He is my boy. I got him from a friend when he was 6 weeks old and he has grown to be such a loyal companion. He loves all dogs and has welcome every dog we've brought into this house with open paws. I love them all so very much <3

We just celebrated Max's 3rd birthday this past August. Ice cream puppy party!
Max's birth date 08/08/08 That's and easy one to remember.

Summer's End. A Evening at the Fair.

I know we're now in October, but since I just started blogging I thought I would share with you some of my favorite photos from this summer.

I took these photo's towards the end of Summer at our Local State Fair. The Ohio State Fair.
I don't normally enjoy the crowds and how hot and sticky it is that time of year, but this year it was quite an enjoyable experience and I think I captured a few great photos from my Iphone. I absolutely LOVE the hipstamatic App.

FUN HOUSE

I like to call this "Greasy Food Alley" from a birds eye view.

This is my favorite photo from the night.
