My Daughters 1st Birthday Party

Celebrating Isabella's 1st Birthday!

It all started with a set of plates I found during an auction when she was about 2 months old.  I loved all the colors in the pattern and based all the other decor around them.

I made the large number 1 out of a spare cardboard box, covered it with burlap, scrapbooking paper and some spare lace I had picked up at an estate sale.

My mother made the beautiful fabric two sided buntings.. they are even more gorgeous in person! Hopefully something we will be offering in my Etsy shop soon.

The Birthday girl! I made her the headband and added a brooch that my grandmother passed down to me a few years back.  She is also sporting a necklace that my mother passed down to me several years back. These are piece I hope to have her photographed in every year on her birthday, as long as she will let me ;)

Thank you to Melissa Jones Photography for her photos!

I was going to buy a cake because I have so many projects going on, but then decided to just make them myself.. I'm not quite the baker, but I had no complaints... The guest actually said they were wonderful... I surprised myself when I finally ate one the next day!

Her own little cake. It didn't feel right not to have something in honor of her late twin sister, but I wanted it to be subtle and I always see Crescent Moons when I need to the most.

The dessert table.

Ice Cream Sunday Bar! I scooped out ice cream the night before into mason jars and stored in the freezer until it was time for the party.  About a half hour before the party I tossed them in a large washtub with ice.

Ready for the Birthday Girl! My mom made all the lace buntings and I got lucky the day before the party and found the pink and white striped wall paper at the thrift store for a $1.  It was perfect!

I think she enjoyed her cake as much as we enjoyed watching her <3

That smile!

It was an amazingly perfect day and I THANK each and every single one of you that took the time out of your busy lives to celebrate this special day with us. She truly is a miracle and a blessing to us. Memories that will last a lifetime.. and now I am in tears.  Love you all.

Wow! I love it! That is certainly one cute party for such a beautiful baby girl. The vintage kind of worn out feel just gives me all those nostalgic memories of my childhood as well. And hey, don’t worry about the cake, I personally think it’s cute. Anyway, how about your gifts for her? Did your get her some toys or dolls? :)
